Objective and content: The course aims to develop participants’ understanding of the content of the EN 9100:2018 standard for the aerospace and defense sector and its innovative elements, with a focus on effectiveness, efficiency, and continuous improvement of business processes.
Through group or individual activities, the training program focuses on the process-based approach in the quality management system, providing basic concepts, operational tools, and the objectives of the approach outlined in the standard:
· The purpose of the quality management system according to EN 9100:2018: the concepts of continuous improvement, effectiveness, and efficiency in the management of business processes with a view to satisfying internal and external customers;
· Introduction to EN 9100:2018: the history, target audience, quality principles, content, and objectives of the standard within the aerospace sector. The added value of the certification scheme from a global market competitiveness perspective;
· Defining the context and risk-based thinking: introduction and operational application of the two new elements introduced by the latest edition of the standard. What it means to verify processes based on risk/opportunity analysis and what the impact is on the company’s operational reality;
· The process-based approach and risk-based thinking: from process definition to classification and identification. The aerospace model for process mapping, the spider diagram and the turtle diagram, the process sheet, the definition of process requirements, input-output relationships and functional analysis, performance measurement for continuous improvement; risk-based thinking; system risk management and operational risk management.
· Expected benefits: from strict compliance to managing business activities with a focus on added value, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction; from adherence to procedures to process “ownership”;
· Understanding of key elements: presentation and analysis of regulatory requirements, assessment of practical implications within the organizational context, and possible implementation pathways for a quality management system compliant with the model.
